- Kaleido is a scholarship plan dealer and investment fund manager. It cannot distribute or sell insurance products or offer financial services, unlike TERRY.
- TERRY is a financial services firm registered with the Autorité des marchés financiers (Québec) which, among other things, offers and sells life and health insurance products to its clients (collectively, the "Insurance Products" and each, an "Insurance Product"). It cannot distribute scholarship plans, unlike Kaleido.
- I understand that the referring party has no liability regarding the advice given and representations made by the party that receives the referral.
- I understand that other representatives and registrants may provide comparable products that may meet my needs.
- A referral fee will be paid by Kaleido to TERRY if I subscribe to an RESP offered by Kaleido.
- This referral fee amounts to $100 for each RESP opened with Kaleido.
- Kaleido will pay Terry a client referral fee if I transfer my RESPs from another financial institution to Kaleido.
- This client referral fee, determined based on the beneficiary’s age, ranges from 2% to 10% of the total assets transferred.
- The client referral agreement creates a potential conflict of interest, since each party has a financial interest in it
- Despite the potential conflict of interest, the referring party complies with its ethical and legal obligations, in particular by prioritizing my interests over its own financial interest.
